Do you write poems? (Of course you do. Everyone secretly writes poems.)
Newfound, the journal for which I edit nonfiction, is hosting their first-ever poetry contest to be guest-judged by none other than Rachel Eliza Griffiths. The prize is $1,000! That’s a lot of cash, y’all. You could buy so, so many doughnuts.

Thanks for this. Incidentally, I’m confused…Newfound/Hothouse? Same pub? What kinds of nonfiction are you into?
Hi Susie,
Thanks for asking.
1.) Hothouse is the blog associated with Newfound Journal.
2.) Newfound is dedicated to investigating the notion of place — human, natural, conceptual, etc. Our nonfiction selections reflect this idea . . . but personally, I read all kinds of nonfiction. Right now, I’m reading a memoir, and a book about the history of Alexandria!
Thanks for clarifying. I might send you something to read if you’re game.
